My primary medium at the present time is pencil on paper, with a small percentage of India ink drawings. These drawings are additionally scanned into the computer for further manipulation and archival purposes. The scanned images are inspected and areas from multiple drawings are combined [in Photoshop] to create new compiled images and clarify my vision.

I try to have a direction and intent in my artwork, but always solve by inspection - compiling images is a method I am currently using to concentrate the image properties for inspection. I have painted a few canvases in the past few months and intend to spend much more of my time painting in the months to come.

Throughout the past year I have also spent many short periods working on color/photographic images that are meant to touch certain threads of perception, emotion, and recollection that are constantly present in all people.

Most recently I have received Fiscal Sponsorship from the New York Foundation for the Arts for my
"Idea Enhancement" project. This project will explore the use of visual imagery to promote innovative and creative thought, and is intended as a practical means of stimulating new ideas and solutions. The method used [in this project] will be cyclical one - starting with the production of images and followed by a public exhibition where viewers will be asked to write down their reactions and thoughts on survey sheets. These responses will then be analyzed and used to increase the effectiveness of new images for future exhibitions. The images will be designed to both provide an environment for contemplative thought and supply the visual materials needed to spark creative ideas. At the project's completion; free image files will be made available.
