Ithaca Artists Market - Friday, July 30!

July 21st, 2010

This year, art collectors will have another opportunity to "Buy Local" at the 20th annual Ithaca Artists Market on Friday, July 30th, from 2pm to 8pm. In 2009, the Artists Market expanded to more than twice its size, taking over the entire Farmers Market on a Friday afternoon and early evening! This year once again, all 88 booths will be filled in a unique, once-a-year, can't miss event.

63 established visual artists have been juried into the Ithaca Artists' Market to showcase and sell some of the best art in the region. Visitors to the market will have the special opportunity to meet and talk with all these artists in one place and to buy works of all shapes, sizes, and disciplines: paintings, prints, photographs, functional work, sculpture, stained glass, collage, fiber art and digital work. Prices for the art will range from $5 to $1,500, and attendance to the market is free!

15 Tompkins County arts organizations will have booths, giving the public a chance to learn about their mission, and maybe get a sneak preview of their upcoming events! There will be five-minute performances from various arts organizations interspersed throughout the day.

Food, Wine, Beer, Chocolate.  The remaining booths will feature food vendors offering everything from full meals to desserts, chocolate and wine tastings. Artist Ryan Curtis will do artistic face painting. Wine and beer by the glass will be available by Aladdin's Natural Eatery.

Music will set the mood all day long with local musicians Johnny Russo, on trumpet and trombone, Doug Robinson on guitar, London McDaniels on bass and Drew Frech on banjo.

Boat Tours. Visitors to the market will also have a chance to get on the water. Tiohero Lake Tours will set sail at 4pm and 7pm for two hours tours.

Raffle. Items from over 10 local businesses (spas, restaurants) will be raffled off throughout the evening!
